My friend and I have been going to The Poached Pear for a few years now, and each time we order something different. Each time the waitress is excellent and the food outstanding. We have found this restaurant to be consistently five stars, which is rare. The prices are all what you would pay for fine dining. The atmosphere is also nice, with warm lighting and tables spaced nicely apart so you're not listening in on the diners next to you.

A fine dining experience with great selection and waitresses that know the menu and can explain dishes in detail. Crispy tender calamari delicious, fresh burrata and beet salad all wonderful. Flourless chocolate cake with gelato delicious! Attentive service, spacious seating. An all around great experience!

Beautiful inside on a cold and windy night. Our server was very good and knowledgeable on everything the kitchen had to offer. I opted for the Halibut, but I'm looking forward to returning to try the duck entree.

New Years Eve at the Poached Pear - a great choice as we were able to order from the regular menu without dealing with a Prix Fixe and noisemakers! Been there, done that many years and many times. It is time to simply enjoy a great meal with good friends. Since we started with appetizers at home, nothing was needed at the restaurant - but I still felt the need to order the Corn Bisque, and it was terrific! On to the entrees: Halibut, Scallops, Rack of Lamb and New York Strip. I ordered the Strip Steak, coated with coffee rub and served over polenta along with asparagus. This was a terrific steak, and I will come back and order it again, for sure. Even though we were planning dessert at home we felt the need to share a Bananas Foster. Overall, a terrific experience and well worth the cost. This is a terrific, BYOB restaurant and should be experienced sooner rather than later. The service during our meal was attentive and professional. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated and very pleasant.

Not as good as in the past. Rushed, we said to pace the meal but as soon ans appetizers done our entree wa delivered. Good service overall. I would definitely give them anopther try.

We recently enjoyed a lovely meal in this pleasantly quiet and ambiance approved bistro. Our server, Sandy was quite helpful and knowledgeable about the menu to navigate a wonderful experience. The ancho-coffee rubbed NY strip steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare perched on top of asparagus fries and mushroom risotto. The beet salad was delicious too. We recommend Poached Pear as high quality BYOB eatery. Fine for date night too.

Loved coming here. Nice ambience. The crab cake was amazing. Have to go back for another sometime soon.

food and service was absolutely five stars. my friend and i shared the pear pizzetta and we both loved it. I had the ahi tuna which was delicious. she had one of the specials, some type of fish with shrimp in a lemon butter sauce with risotto and mushrooms. my friend said it was delicious. we would have loved to try the dessert but didn't have room. our waiter Nick was great and the staff was on top of filling our waters constantly. this place is definitely somewhere you should look nice. no sloppy t-shirts. jeans and a nice top would be fine. there's both indoor and outdoor seating but outdoor is just on the sidewalk next to the street. the bathrooms were small and limited (only two). they could have been cleaned a little better and also wish they provided towels instead of air dryers for your hands. additionally, theyre not ADA accessible, if that matters to you. not wheelchair friendly and no hand rails FYI. I think the only thing they could improve on here is the bathrooms. everything else was absolutely lovely and we'll definitely be back.

Another stellar meal at Poached Pear. Quality ingredients and friendly service. They are really just a touch under 5 stars. They fell short on their bread pudding and the octopus appetizer. Overall, Poached Pear is still a true gem in Point Pleasant.

Highly recommended by friends and it was a truly outstanding meal at this BYOB restaurant. Outstanding service. The wedge salad and the octopus appetizers were delicious and shareable. The main course steaks and fish dishes were also outstanding. Added bonus is that the restaurant has sound panels throughout making very easy to carry on a conversation there. I was able to pull right into a street parking spot a couple of doors away from the entrance.
